LIBRARY
A well managed library is an essential input to academics, it is always a crucial learning resource for students of professional courses. We have a well stocked computerized library catering to the academic and non-academic interests of the students. The serene atmosphere and rows of neatly stacked books pertaining to courses of study, supplementary reading, general reading and personality development etc., play a major role in attracting the students to the library. There are more than 6,000 books on different subjects including a large number of reference books, twenty sets of encyclopedias and a great number of periodicals and news papers to keep the prospective teachers abreast of the latest in the world.
The CCE library has a spacious reading hall. The library with its rich collection of books, magazines, newspapers, wide range of journals, provision of reference service, efficient lending facilities and skilled help from the library staff is rendering valuable assistance to the students desirous of excelling in their studies.
COMPUTER LAB
The institute has a well equipped computer lab including latest software, computer peripheral devices and internet services for integrating information and communication technologies with the teaching-learning process. The prospective teachers are thus exposed not only to the pedagogical practices but also to computer-based programmed lessons and animated visuals.
Use of LCD is made by the staff and students in delivering their lessons through multimedia presentations. This help the teacher as well as pupil teacher to facilitate conceptual clarity, increases interactivity, eases content assimilation and students also get motivation for the use of this medium for delivering more visually effective lessons.
Computer literacy is essential for the prospective teacher and hence compulsory computer classes are held on a regular basis to make the students familiar with the basic skills of computing necessary for their day to day teaching and learning assignments.
Internet facility in the well-equipped Internet lab, providing high speed of 4 Mbps connectivity via OFC Link is provided round the clock to the college students in which they have the facility to surf the net through Wi-Fi also.
Educational Technology and Language Lab is equipped with latest language software, audio-visual aids procured . It has television, DVD, OHP, Multimedia, Microphone and audio system. In these lab activities like group discussions, seminars, role playing, mock interviews, role-playing, and public speaking are organized to enhance effectiveness of communication skills of our students
SCIENCE LAB
The college also has a well equipped laboratory with all the equipment necessary to carry of experiments required at school level and to develop the spirit of scientific attitude for prospective teachers
PSYCHOLOGY LAB
Psychology lab is very important in any education college. In this lab we have different tests and tools to assess the intelligence, personality and creativity of the students. Proper Guidance and counseling services are also provided to students on issues ranging from those concerning with education to those relating personal matters of the heart.
LECTURE HALLS
The institute has highly modernized, spacious classrooms and lecture halls supported with audio-visual equipments facilitating learning. These infrastructural amenities provide an excellent learning atmosphere for dynamic and focused discussions.
A multi purpose hall for extension lectures and demonstrations and a fully air conditioned modern 500 seating capacity auditorium cum seminar hall are also available for major events and functions organized over the year for the benefit and overall development of our students.
HOSTEL FACILITY
The Institute has boarding and lodging facilities for boys and girls separately. Both the fully furnished hostels with warm ambience and home like conditions are located on the campus. The rooms are spacious and well-furnished. The years spent at the Institute hostels will help in strengthening the character and moral fibre of the trainee teachers. Home cooked nutritive meals and caring and loving atmosphere is the main attraction of these hostels. Vegetarian as well as non vegetarian food is prepared separately under hygienic conditions at the central kitchens which is served in the students dining halls.
A fully equipped gymnasium along with facilities for sports and other recreational activities are also available in the hostel grounds.
The residents are expected to adhere to a set of rules and regulations to ensure proper discipline during their stay.
GAMES AND SPORTS
In tune with the objective of all round development of students, various sporting and physical development activities are encouraged amongst students. The games and sports facilities at the campus make the students attain physical growth and sportsman spirit. The college has separate courts for major games like basketball, football, volley ball and hockey. Intra-college and inter-college matches and annual sports day celebration give the students ample opportunity to develop their talents and skills.
According to NCTE norms each student must participate in at least one of the outdoor games. To fulfill this requirement sporting facilities are made available to all students under our Sports teacher and all students are expected to participate in all sports activities voluntarily.
CANTEEN
The college canteen is a place for a refreshing break from the grueling schedule of B.Ed course. It’s a place for interaction and a meeting place for students who relax, chat and gossip in their leisure time in the spacious, clean and comfortable surroundings. Fresh and hygienic eatables are available throughout the day at reasonable rates. A very reasonable lunch menu containing quality products is also accessible for the tired students as they gather here for a break from their regular studies
MEDICAL FACILITIES
A first aid box with common symptom medicines is available in the college office for minor problems and ailments whereas medical facilities and medicines are available regularly to the hostlers during 5:00pm-6:00pm. In addition to this the college has tied up with Sohana Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sohana, Mohali and Fortis Heart & Multi-Specialty Institute in case of any acute problem or medical emergency.
TRANSPORTATION
Chandigarh Group of Colleges has its own fleet of buses that provide transportation to students of Mohali, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Patiala and Rajpura. Besides that the college is easily accessible by means of public transport as bus service of CTU / Punjab Roadways / PRTC is available every 10 minutes. Concessional bus passes can be availed as the college is duly approved by the government.
