GENERAL INFORMATION ON ADMISSION PROCEDURE

The College offers a one-year duration Bachelor of Education course which graduate students from the disciplines of Arts or Science can take. The admission is on the basis of a common entrance test followed by centralized counseling conducted for all three universities of Punjab i.e. Panjab University, Chandigarh; Punjabi University Patiala and GNDU University, Amritsar at a common venue. This year the counseling is being conducted at Punjabi University, Patiala.

The test comprises of the following papers:

General Awareness ( G.K.)

Teaching Potential

General Mental Ability

English Language

Hindi or Punjabi

Thus, the entrance testis designed to sample all those aspects that are comprehensive, total and relevant to teaching in schools.

85% of the total seats are reserved for students having Punjab domicile and 15% seats are for general category outside Punjab.

The management quota comprises of 15 % seats out of the 85% Punjab Quota. Therefore 13 seats are kept aside for the management to fill according to their discretion, however entrance test qualified candidates only will be considered for these seats. The reservation policy of Government of Punjab will be followed for filling the seats against various categories. Other details are available in the prospectus available with the University.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Candidates should possess at least 45% marks in aggregate in Bachelors/ Masters degree examination of a recognized university. Relaxation of 5 % marks will be allowed to SC/ST.

Candidates from universities other than Punjabi University are required to submit the following within 30 days of enrolment.
